You may probably have heard of methamphetamine at one time or the other without knowing its meaning and use. Get enlightened.

Methamphetamine is on the list of Schedule 11 Controlled Drug Substances (CDS). What is a controlled substance anyway? Well, a controlled substance is a dangerous substance, most often a drug, listed by the Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substances Law as dangerous and harmful for human consumption. Therefore, the manufacture, distribution, and possession of methamphetamine or any other controlled substance is a violation of the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law.

The manufacture, distribution, and possession of methamphetamine is a serious crime punishable by law. In this regard, if you are found producing or distributing methamphetamine, as well as consuming it, then you will be arrested and made to face a serious trial in court. If found guilty, you will be taken to jail.

But how is methamphetamine harmful to the body?

Methamphetamine is a neurotoxin. It is considered as one of the most dangerous types of drugs, which gets the user addicted and constantly have a need for it.

It is a very powerful stimulant, that is highly addicted. If a person takes it once, such a person is compelled to keep taking it because of the substances contained in it. It can be taken by swallowing as a pill, smoking or inhaling, injecting, and snorting. Whichever way it is taken, it carries out its harmful effects on the central nervous system. Methamphetamine works by increasing high levels of dopamine in the brain. This dopamine is in charge of body movement and motivation.

The short- and long-term effects of using methamphetamine are very harmful to the body.

Here they are:

    Loss of appetite

    Irregular heartbeat

    Faster breathing

    Tooth decay

    Loss of memory

An increased risk of contracting HIV

    Violent behavior

Itching of various parts of the body, which leads to sores.

These are just a few effects of consuming methamphetamine, as there are others. Although it is a very harmful drug which should be avoided as stated by the law, people still find themselves in possession of it, whether mistakenly or not. Well, methamphetamine will not be available if there are no producers or manufacturers. This, in turn, means that people still disregard the law, and go on to produce the drug and distribute it to interested persons. However, according to the Louisiana State Legislature, if you are a producer, distributor, or found in possession of methamphetamine, you are committing a very serious crime punishable by the State law.
